3G switch off

i have a phone that uses 4G for data but not calls and texts, will data still work after the 3G switch off or are three going to block phones that dont support 4G calling

Resolved! APN settings for EU

So the settings you change it says open '3' but mine says Smarty not 3 ? If I change it and restart phone it goes back to 'smarty' also the APN setting is already correct so will it work abroad am I good to go ?
