Re: iPhone 16E and eSIM
I see the iPhone Air that is rumoured for his year is said to not have a SIM card slot in ANY market, I also see that 1P Mobile are going got launch eSIM in the next few months, so it would be really nice if Smarty finally supported eSIM, but I don’t think their is much chance of that?6KViews0likes6CommentsRe: Esim
How about so us iPhone users can have two sims on our phones! Because no one single provider, especially Three, is capable of providing a service all over the country. The iPhone only has one physical sim slot, but allows 5 I think esims. It’s modern progression too. I’m actually scrapping my S arty SIM and moving to ID Mobile as they now use eSIM and Three’s network. When Smarty move into modern times I’ll come back over.28KViews0likes1CommentRe: [Open Discussion] Do you buy refurbished tech?
Well I used the Smarty app to link me to Renoxed.co, and I got £50 of a new iPhone thanks to them. Got an iPhone 13 Pro 128GB for £649, my first refurb phone, and it is in mint as new condition and even still under Apples warranty till December! Very happy with that.19KViews0likes0CommentsRe: [Open Discussion] Console Wars: Xbox vs PlayStation
A new Switch will be out soon. This year or next. I'll look at it. I've had 3 Switches before. Sold the last one to help fund the Steam Deck, it is a very adaptable and powerful system, but I just had mine in its dock collecting dust, it is a pain as not all games will turn the screen in when you wake it from sleep, you have to install some third party patch from somewhere to fix that apparently. And then it is a pain to boot into desktop mode to use with a monitor. Guess I got hired of it. I worked in IT for years before but these days prefer something simpler lol.14KViews1like0CommentsRe: [Open Discussion] Console Wars: Xbox vs PlayStation
Last gen I had a PS4, had a PS4 Pro too and hated it as it was so LOUD! Unfortunately I got bored of Sonys games all seemingly being the same over the shoulder story simulators, and I'll never forgive Naughty Dog for ruining The Last Of Us with part 2!!.... Fore!... So this gen I've gone Xbox only, I had a One S last gen and my favourite console ever was the Xbox 360S. I have a Series X now, love it, Game Pass has been a game changer for me, so many excellent titles on it. And it's such a quiet machine. Also my all time favourite game series is Gears Of War, can't get enough of that. So yeah Xbox for me. I had a Steam Deck too which I sold, I found myself just playing Xbox all the time, because if it's console ease of use and Game Pass. Steam Deck is a little user un-friendly IMO. Sticking with Xbox.14KViews6likes3CommentsRe: Strange Signal Issues. Not Impressed.
Well I went to another place with Three 5G and it worked but only around 50MBPS. With 3 bars of 5G service, so the other town must have issues or something for it not to work. I have tested a 1P Mobile SIM yesterday and today though, and I get MUCH better speeds with it on EE. I even get 5G in my house and it got over 90mbps on a Speedtest. So as much as I like Smarty, I think after further testing I'll have to leave. Three just don't have the signal in my area, and I do worry once that 3G is turned off if I'll have signal black spots. The coverage checker states I should get 'Very Good' 4G coverage, I don't see that at all I'm afraid. Looking at cell maper EE has more masts and closer to me, Three has fewer more widely spread out. I don't know what the plans are for North Dorset but I think it could be upgraded, although I expect planning permission for any new 5G mast will be difficult and met with opposition. Where I go grocery shopping I can get around 80MBPS on Three 4G, but it doesn't seem to spread far enough to my village, the shops are about 9 miles from where I live.8.9KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Strange Signal Issues. I also went to the hospital which according to the Smarty coverage checker on the Smarty websites states is smack bang in the middle of the 5G area, with indoor and outdoor signal, I parked on the very top uncovered level of the multi story hospital car park right next to the hospital, I could even see cellular masts on top of the hospital roof, and I got NO 5G signal no matter what I did. I think you need to reevaluate the accuracy of the coverage checker and the data it presents.9KViews0likes0Comments
