Re: Two factor Authenticator not getting codes
Hi SarahSh_3484975 Are these 2FA codes being sent by companies that use SMS short code numbers to do so? If yes, then you will be charged for it and you need to pay for and out-of-plan add-on to be able to pay for them to be delivered to you. Here are some 'Help' articles from SMARTY with regards to this:- https://help.smarty.co.uk/en/articles/10364848-a-quick-guide-to-shortcodes https://community.smarty.co.uk/t5/chats-hacks/let-s-clear-up-sms-shortcodes-here-s-what-you-need-to-know https://smarty.co.uk/shortcodes-checker If you still need to clarify this then contact the Live Chat:- https://smarty.co.uk/contact Type 'Talk to a person' in the dialogue box to connect to an adviser. Thank you MSF for that. I am now going to 'Err on the side of caution' when answering, with regards to what 'major' networks support. and what the networks that 'piggy back' major networks do. Why they are so far behind in what they can offer is beyond me i.e. it took Smarty HOW long to use short codes?🤔 I am not slamming them as they are 'affordable' for a reason but why it takes them as long as it does to catch up confuses me as surely it means they will lose customers??357Views0likes1CommentRe: maybe fourth time lucky. Where are the sims going to?
MSF I got all the information from a Google search and added all the relevant links but when I pressed 'Reply' the whole post disappeared and so I added what I could remember. Thinking back on it, it may have been advice given by the AI 🤔 So Yes, you may be right that it is not possible 😕 but it may also be worth discussing it with an adviser to see if it can be done. tonyGair_736458 I forgot to add:- 1) If a replacement SIM had been sent out then the account it is linked to would be suspended. It is worth checking if this is the case and if not then the request was not put through (the account will be reinstated once the replacment SIM is activated). 2) You can also order a replacement SIM through his account rather than going through the Live Chat.... https://help.smarty.co.uk/en/articles/12008637-how-to-replace-your-smarty-sim468Views0likes3CommentsRe: maybe fourth time lucky. Hi tonyGair_736458 You can buy a new physical SMARTY SIM from large supermarkets, independent corner shops, or Amazon, and once you do you'll need to perform a "SIM swap" online with your existing SMARTY number to use the new SIM. Buyng a new SIM from a shop and doing a SIM swap. There may be a small £ to purchase a SIM:- Purchase a physical SMARTY SIM card from a large supermarket e.g. Asda. Iceland, B&M stores, The Range or Sainsbury’s supermarket (they sell them for ~£1), or your local newsagent or Amazon Contact customer support via webchat to request a SIM swap and provide the new SIM's ICCID serial number to link it to your SMARTY number. It's a unique identification number that contains 19 or 20 digits and can be found on the SIM card surround. https://smarty.co.uk/contact Type 'talk to a person' in the dialogue box to connect to an adviser. Hope this helps x434Views0likes1CommentRe: Have you ever spotted a mobile scam? Or nearly fallen for one? Let’s talk about it!
As of today, I have only received 2 spam text messages in the last few years. One was asking 'Dad add my new phone number' to which I replied 'Which of my 20 devil spawn is this?' and there was no reply 🤔 (I am female and have NO children) I don't (touch wood) get any spam emails BUT, I do get a lot of spam call on my home phone number. I tend to have fun with these numbers by answering them with 'Police, fraud department..... How may I help you today?' they don't tend to phone back 😁 If you want to have fun with spam callers here are some suggestions on how to answer them:- “City Morgue, you kill ‘em, we chill ‘em. How can I help you?” “Myrtle’s girdles, Myrtle speaking. What can I do for you today?” “Bill’s Pool Hall, 8 Ball speaking.” “Jim’s sperm bank, you smack it, we pack it! How can I help you today?” “Alcoholics Anonymous, Jack Daniels speaking.” “This is the hokey pokey hotline, we’ll help you turn yourself around.” “House of Pain, how can we hurt you today?” “Roger’s Crematorium. You got the cash, we got the ash. Jenny here.” “Roadkill Cafe, you kill it, we grill it. What can I get started for you today?” “Jonestown orphanage, you make ‘em, we take ‘em. This is Johnny speaking.” “This is the cannibal help hotline. Remember, people are friends, not food.” “I have your money, please just let my brother go!” “Yes, I’d like an extra large pizza with mushrooms, sausage, peppers, and onions, please.” “Tell Marty I want his full payment by noon tomorrow or he’s done.” “The job is done, but there’s blood everywhere. What do you want me to do?” “He’s dead. What do you want me to do with the body?” “Dad? Is that you? I’ve been waiting for you to call ever since you left.” If you want to find other suggestions then search 'funny spam call responses' 😂588Views1like0CommentsRe: Hello. Is there a way to get my name to be shown when calling out?
You are very welcome dubz 👍 And, Thank You for letting me know my advice may have been helpful as many on here, who post a query, do not give any feedback and so we don't ever know if we have been helpful or not. x525Views0likes0CommentsRe: My account is showing as closed
Hi IanRedm_1619083 Are you the group owner? Only they can make any changes for the group OR individual members. 'The group owner will be able to manage everyone’s usage and payments from one place, change plans and purchase add-ons for each SIM.' Hi BrianTo_3447513 As MSF has stated, we are not SMARTY employees but customers just like yourself. You can either:- 1 - Add more info on this post as to what information you need from us so that we may be able to advise you or 2 - Contact SMARTY Live Chat to discuss this https://smarty.co.uk/contact Type 'Talk to a person' in the dialogue box tro connect to an adviser. Good luck x256Views0likes0CommentsRe: Voicemail
Hi RobertG_2747213 This has been bought up previously. https://community.smarty.co.uk/t5/chats-hacks/voicemail-notifications/m-p/35318 One customer found that requesting a replacement SIM sorted the problem. Just be aware that if you go down the replacement SIM route that your account, and ability to use your phone, will be suspended until the new SIM is activated (2 - 3 days depending on delivery). https://help.smarty.co.uk/en/articles/1215834-what-to-do-if-your-sim-card-gets-lost-or-stolen If you don't want to, or can't (as you need your phone), go down the replacement SIM path the you can connect to the Live Chat to discuss the problem:- https://smarty.co.uk/contact Type 'Talk to a peson' in the dialogue box to connect to an adviser.
