Re: Missing calls …
You’ve completely missed the point. It’s nothing to with the lack of customer service agents. It’s the lack of service. Smarty just gaslights their customers as if it’s a problem with their phones or settings. In reality Smarty has an over subscribed service. They piggy back off the Three network. When it becomes congested, Smarty customers are dropped because they’re lower priority than Three customers. Today I’ve missed calls texts and voicemails even though supposedly I had a good connection. I’m literally 400m from the nearest Three 5g cell tower. I only found out about the missed calls when I toggled my airplane mode. And then all the texts and voicemails starting coming through. This is totally on Smarty not the end user. It doesn’t matter if you provide a cheap service when the most basic thing you supposed to be able to do on a phone is receive or make calls. I’ve constantly missing SMS and calls from work or my GP or hospital appointments which I’ve made weeks in advance. Smarty will not admit that the problem is theirs due to too many subscribers. I’ve lost my patience and am fed up at being gaslighted by Smarty support. I’ll take my custom elsewhere.169Views0likes1CommentRe: Can’t make calls
Same here. Just spent an hour on chat asking me to reset network, change APN etc, all things I’ve tried already. Then suggested that it’s a faulty SIM and to order a replacement which means losing all access to your phone as they block the number until the new SIM is activated. Why doesn’t Smarty just admit that calls are being lost due to congestion. They don’t or won’t pay Three for sufficient capacity for their customers. What other company could get away with providing a service that is never fulfilled because their hiding the truth of lack of capacity from their paying customers?627Views0likes1CommentRe: [Network Issue] Service Update - Resolved
Smarty service has become farcical. It's a regular occurrence of missed calls because even though it looks like you have a good signal, voice calls cannot be made or received. This also happened last week and I managed to resolve it by toggling the airplane mode. I had the phone right in front of me and missed two calls, one of which was from my hospital. The call went straight to voicemail. Not that I could access voicemail because voice calls were unavailable. But today, it's a total outage. No notification from Smarty themselves or a banner on their website. I've only found out by reading the forums. It's not good enough. Today I have a GP phone call at 14:00 which was booked over three weeks ago and now it looks like I will miss it through no fault of my own. Are we going to get compensation for this? This happened a few months ago as well and there was not a peep or apology from Smarty. Shambolic to say the least.7.8KViews3likes1CommentRe: [Network Issue] Service Update - Resolved
Except this was gaslighting by Smarty. It transpired there was a complete outage on the Three Network which in turn affected Smarty. Not a peep from Smarty themselves. But it was reported profusely on DownDetector and was even mentioned on BBC news and their website. But if you checked Smarty website according to their network status everything was hunky dory.13KViews0likes0CommentsRe: [Network Issue] Service Update - Resolved
I have tried SIM in two different phones both with the same negative results. It’s Smarty network. Both times toggling airplane mode to get signal works for a time but if you leave phone for a few minutes it goes back to not connecting despite which phone is used so it’s not my hardware. Thus is not a frivolous complaint. I’ve actually missed two critical calls today which I can’t call back.16KViews1like5CommentsRe: [Network Issue] Service Update - Resolved
It’s not a phone issue. I have the same issue. I literally had the phone in front of me when I got a call. The phone didn’t ring and the call went straight to voicemail. I tried calling the number, just silence, followed by 3 beeps and call dropped. I then put phone into airplane mode and then immediately disabled it so the mobile connection would be re-established. After that I could access my voicemail and make calls again. i then tried to make another call within 5 mins and again silence followed by 3 beeps and call dropped. So the problem is with Smarty network not with my phone.16KViews0likes8Comments
