Re: QUERY on ROLLING CONTRACTS
Hi, I hope your Sunday is treating you well. With Smarty you are always free to cancel. It's the beauty of having no fixed contracts. It sounds like you may have been on a promotional offer. Typically, unless extended, promotional offers with Smarty are valid for 15 months. This does not mean you have to stay for 15 months - it means your extra data, or your discount, is valid for that amount of time. Note this is just an example, as most offers I've seen are 15 months, but some offers may be different timeframes. You can visit your Smarty Dashboard on the Smarty website to see how long you have left on your current offer, too. If you're on an offer, you should see a white tag that says "SPECIAL OFFER", then "offer, [number of] months remaining" Don't forget you can change your plan at any time. You can do this on the Smarty website via your dashboard or on the Smarty app. Seen a Smarty offer elsewhere? It doesn't hurt to ask. You can contact Smarty to discuss your options. Please note I don't work for Smarty, I just like to help fellow Smarty customers out here. Best of luck with your Smarty plan - have a lovely week ahead! :)29Views2likes0CommentsRe: Are there any plans to introduce top up by voucher?
Hi, I hope you are well. I know this was posted in December but I figured I would answer anyway just in case you would still like help with this. I don't work for Smarty, but I do love the idea of top up vouchers. You could suggest it to Smarty on their socials, or by contacting them here. Personally I would advise suggesting it on socials but the option is there to contact them using the website if preferred. Smarty staff may see this post too and consider your idea. I understand the frustration of having to use a QR code in a shop to top up your account. Whilst the option of auto renew is there, this of course is not for everyone. What you can also do is through your Smarty dashboard, or mobile app, you could buy an out of plan add-on. This can then be converted to account balance and will automatically apply towards your plan amount. Sometimes I do this, as it's just quicker than going in to a shop, and it gives me the satisfaction of knowing I've paid off my Smarty plan for one or two months. Please also note that account balance can be used towards purchases of add-ons like chargeable / international calls etc. You just buy it through the website dashboard or app and the account balance applies towards that add-on purchase. Just a friendly reminder that I don't work for Smarty, but I hope this has been helpful. Have a lovely week ahead! :)5Views0likes0CommentsRe: 15 months for free?
Hello, This sounds like you are on a promotional offer. These offers usually have a set amount of months before the price goes up or the promotional extra data is removed and you go back to the standard data allowance for the price of your plan. Your offer was extended for 15 extra months meaning for at least 15 months, your plan will stay the same. It is also worth noting that you are not locked in a contract for 15 months - you can leave or change your plan at any time. I hope this helps! :)82Views0likes0CommentsRe: Lock phone at nightime how can we?
Hi, Is this an Android phone? You could use something like Google Family Link which is a parental controls service available for free by Google. You could use it just for locking the phone, but also to restrict / block certain apps, YouTube, search settings etc. If it's an iPhone you could use Screen Time to lock the phone and/or restrict other features. Hope this helps! :)104Views0likes0CommentsRe: Text message from smarty
One thing you might want to do, at least until you get this fixed, is top up your SMARTY account in-store. You can find out how to do this here: Topping up your account balance in store via PayPoint | SMARTY Help Centre You can then use the credit you have purchased to pay your monthly plan. I usually add enough to cover one or two months, I do find it helps with my budgeting having this option as well. Best of luck in finding a solution to the issue you are facing 🙂786Views0likes2CommentsRe: Account closed
Ah yes - it's 8pm-ish on a Sunday and I'm tired, that should've been my first thought. If the phone is working it is likely just a glitch with the system. I have checked my account (website and app), mine doesn't say account closed but glitches don't always affect everyone. If the phone service is not working though, please do contact customer service as advised OP 🙂824Views1like0CommentsRe: Account closed
Hi - sorry to hear this. Have you reached out to SMARTY customer service? Contact us - FAQ | SMARTY On this link you should see a chat bubble - please select this & get started. By the way, I have noticed on the night before my plan is due to reset, my account will sometimes say my plan has been paused. I think this is just to stop one from changing their plan whilst the process of a plan reset is taking place. I hope this helps. Best of luck with getting the answer you need.814Views2likes0Comments
