Smarty In Alaska

Hi I'm going to Alaska and Canada on vacation later this year.

Will my smarty sim work there with my uk allowance.

If not can anyone recommend a prepaid sim I could use in Alaska / Canada ??

Okay @KevinEn_1431260, yes your SMARTY SIM will work in Alaska and Canada, BUT you can't use your plan's UK allowances while roaming there.

For my recent trip to Australia, I used a 30-day data only eSIM (from Soracom Mobile) for cheap roaming data, and added £10 credit to my SMARTY plan for any out-of-plan use (calls and texts) roaming in Australia.

To use mobile data overseas, you've got to make a one-off change to your setup, described online at:

Unfortunately, your Smarty plan will only work in the Uk and EU (where there is a 12Gb data limit). Any use outside of these areas requires some credit added to your account to pay for it.

You will note that rates while in USA and Canada are quite pricey, so best to rely on wifi where possible or look at local plans that you can purchase (sorry - no experience of that)
