Hi one and all, can anyone please help, I got my new sim, I activated the card, everything is working except I can’t make or receive any calls, if anyone tries to call me it sounds like my phone is ringing, but it’s not, I get a text message saying I have missed a call but I can’t call back, the phone isn’t in airplane mode, the phone is a Doro, any help would be appreciated, thank you all.

@Patpear_3026732 If you just activated the sim, you may need to give it an hour or two to function properly.

Check your account dashboard to see that you sim shows as active and that your have a Smarty plan.

If there are still problems, web chat with Smarty Support team.

Hey @Patpear_3026732

Thank you for reaching out to our SMARTY community forum!

As you may be aware, 3G is being switched off over the UK which means any devices not compatible with our network, will face issues with receiving and making calls.

Please specify the model of your device so we can check its compatibility with our network!

You can also follow this link to see a list of devices that are NOT compatible with our network:

I hope this helps!

So on my phone settings it says 4G under Preferred Network Type. However I am experiencing the same issue with not being able to place calls, and calls cutting out randomly, which has been going on since I switched to Smarty :S

Hi @Patpear_3026732
Even though your phone shows '4G' as the preferred network this doesn't mean that you can connect to it.
4G is just the name used in phones as a label for the 4th generation network but the actual technology being used is VoLTE (Voice over LTE).
To be able to connect to this network and be able to make/receive calls you have to enable and turn on VoLTE (also seen as 4G Calling in some phones) in your settings.
This is a link to the 8200 model (as you don't state what model you have) and will hopefully point you in the right direction as to whether your phone has VoLTE turned on and if not how to do it....

@474747 you say 'I am experiencing the same issue with not being able to place calls, and calls cutting out randomly'.
Again, check that you have VoLTE/4G Calling enabled on your phone (Internet search engines are your friend to show you how).
Having calls cutting out suggests that you do, unless this is happening when you are in an area that still has 3G coverage and your phone is connecting to that instead.

Thank you all, it is the doeo 7060 and I did enabled VoLTE in the settings, and compared all the settings from my sons s22, all settings are the same but I can text and go on the net, just no calls. I'm 86 years old and need my son to help me, that's why I got the senior phone big buttons etc.
