Paypoint and auto renew feels like no choice
Hello all I have never got anywhere with my other queries in the past so let's hope. I will not mention the fact that the speed I receive on unlimited data is unusable 40 percent of the time, unless I'm using a pack with limited data then it's bye bye 4g that's barely 2g speed wise and hello 5g half a gig speeds. Anyway...until the last week I was able to easily top-up 3 pound using paypoint and then use that for a daily unlimited pass. Research I have conducted and other comments online are suggesting that certain 4g frequencies are not supported on smarty. These are the backbone frequencies that are long reaching and good speeds. The issue is that smarty changes IP every couple of minutes. This can make apps and services believe a dos attack is coming from a device. You can easily replicate this, download Google earth and put it in 3d zoom in and out and watch the percentage stop loading than all your internet slows to zero. It goes normal after a while but if you use a VPN like the one Google has built in the problem does not occur. It has (smarty) to many customers in a lot of areas. This is also known as contention and simply put it's the same as your water it's good but would be a drip if everyone decided to use all the taps in their house on the same street. Also it makes me want to scream 3 and smarty may be on the same core network but smarty does not have access to certain beneficial frequencies and a long term three customer paying 35 40 a month is going to be provided with a better service than the one for 20 pound. Most people will accept the old Giffgaff one we are cheap because we do everything online. What's the killer though ? Pick an app Google earth say you will see after zooming in on 3d areas etc the connection will hang. After no help or reply even after months of trying to help THEM I FIGURED IT OUT. Smarty changes IP on the fly sometimes as much as every minute. This I believe in simple terms when combined with small packet data triggers a ddos attack response. I could chat for ages about issues with smarty. The simple fix for the issue I describe is to use the VPN from Google one I believe it's free of maybe a 1 pound a month this also gets you 100gb Google drive storage and some other goodies. At a pound and it giving other features it's the easiest fix until smarty acknowledge. At least your devices are offering volte. My Moto 62 62 5g has only just started using WiFi calling but 4g volte no no. Anyone interested just buy a pay as you go sim from EE pop it in and instantly you see volte, as ee is the only operator to offer a flawless volte service for its pay as you go. Most networks pretend they offer it but in reality only for the pay monthly and then only to handsets they provide. One sure way to know regardless of what people tell you is that if you dont see volte 4g calling then it's not 4g calling. Laughable is how many people have 5g handsets that when they make or receive a call the internet becomes useless because of no volte handover. Replicate by running a speed check whilst making a call, sorry to burden anyone with this issue but it's a utter nonsense that the regulator has not forced this. Can anyone else replicate this issue. On Google earth when using smarty on any device, zoom in with 3d buildings turned on. Move around quickly and the bottom left percentage dial will display. You notice eventually it gets stuck at 29 percent. Speed tests show a connection that was 200 300 a moment ago had now dropped to not even half a mb into. Only fix is to wait it out or aeroplane mode. I can assure you I have done everything to replicate, unfortunately the common factor is smarty as using another connection the issue does not happen. Even using a smarty connection in hotspot mode will exhibit the problem in other devices thus adding more proof it is smarty and not device location etc. I am awaiting feedback from smarty so this post is reaching out for other users feedback more so than support.1.5KViews0likes1Comment
