Did you mean:

Very poor coverage

I have been with Smarty for five days.

I still cannot use internet at home - it comes and goes, but mostly it goes.

No emails, no Facebook.

Utterly exasperated.

Any help much appreciated.

Thank you.

Did you check the coverage of Three, Smarty’s parent network, where you live, work, socialise etc before buying a Smarty SIM ? It may be that Smarty doesn’t have good coverage in the places you use your phone the most ?

Is it actually a phone you have put the Smarty SIM in, or have you put it into a router, trying to use Smarty as a replacement for fixed line broadband ? (Smarty do not recommend this as a long term solution)

Are you trying to use Smarty in the UK or abroad ? If abroad, the APN in your device needs to be changed to ‘mob.asm.net’. There are instructions on how to do this for both iPhones and Androids pinned at the top of this sub - section of the forum.

If you have “bought blind” without checking the coverage offered by Three, Smarty’s parent network, it may well be that unfortunately, Three / Smarty do not currently offer good coverage where you need it most, home, work, etc.

Smarty state they cover 99% of the uk, but i also have serious issues with signal once i go outside

@garethr_1413939 It may be that you are in a 'dead spot' shielded by a building. I assume that you have tried in other areas with no problem.

SMARTY seem to have added caveats to this, namely:

  • The coverage applies outdoors only.
  • Coverage only applies to the more densely populated areas of the UK - rural locations might not fall within coverage due to low population density.
