Going abroad

Hi, I’m new to SMARTY and I’m going to Paris in may and then Rome in June. 
I have a iPhone 12 and I pay for 16gb data plan every month. Do I need to do anything to use my phone abroad or can I just go as it is and it will work? Or do I need to buy anything extra?
