Out of Plan add on for Albania-Smarty is a waste of money

I purchased a £15 Smarty Out of Plan add on for a trip to Albania (which is outside of the EU). I was planning to mainly use it for data roaming for Google maps for when I was driving a rental car. I arrived in Albania on 26 August at Tirana airport at 12.15hrs and within just 2 hours the £15 Out of Plan add on had been used up! I was only using  my phone in the taxi from the airport to track the route the driver was taking. When I arrived in Tirana I purchased a Vodaphone data only e-SiM which gives unlimited data for 21 days - the cost was £30. The Smarty Out of Plan add on was a complete waste of money as when I now look back at the details it only gives 60mb of data which is not worth having when most people only want access to data when they are abroad. Dont waste your money on a Smarty Out of Plan add on if you are travelling outside of the EU.

@AndrewE_1360684 Perhaps not that surprising as data in Albania is charged at 25p per megabyte and so you would only have had 60mb worth as you say.

This information was readily available to you via the Smarty Price Guide ands it should not have come as a shock. If you are not in the EU then roaming is an expensive business and almost always cheaper with either a local sim or a data esim.
