I got a bonus sim card when order one.
It has a nice phone number so I want to keep the bonus one as well.
Will the sim / number expired if I did not activate it right now? Or the number will keep forever as long as I did not activate the sim?

The way to keep a number attached to a SIM is to have an active plan on it, and use it at least once every 6 months ( such as a monthly data or voice and date plan for one month in six).
I think you could get a plan, such as the "£5 until used" (for either data or voice) add-on, and the make at least one phone call or data use every 6 months. I may misunderstand the add-on bit, and there use, so check up on the T&C's

SIM cards normally have a ‘shelf life” of around two years.
@Strandloper is pretty much spot on with his thoughts.
If the number is that good, would be worth switching to it and letting all the relevant people know. I did this back in the early 2000’s, when Virgin Mobile sold SIM card packs and accompanying paperwork in CD cases. I came across a great number, used Virgin Mobile for a little while, then ported the number to my preferred network. I still have that number to this day.
