Did you mean:

Very poor coverage

I have been with Smarty for five days.

I still cannot use internet at home - it comes and goes, but mostly it goes.

No emails, no Facebook.

Utterly exasperated.

Any help much appreciated.

Thank you.

Did you check the coverage of Three, Smartyโ€™s parent network, where you live, work, socialise etc before buying a Smarty SIM ? It may be that Smarty doesnโ€™t have good coverage in the places you use your phone the most ?

Is it actually a phone you have put the Smarty SIM in, or have you put it into a router, trying to use Smarty as a replacement for fixed line broadband ? (Smarty do not recommend this as a long term solution)

Are you trying to use Smarty in the UK or abroad ? If abroad, the APN in your device needs to be changed to โ€˜mob.asm.netโ€™. There are instructions on how to do this for both iPhones and Androids pinned at the top of this sub - section of the forum.

If you have โ€œbought blindโ€ without checking the coverage offered by Three, Smartyโ€™s parent network, it may well be that unfortunately, Three / Smarty do not currently offer good coverage where you need it most, home, work, etc.

Smarty state they cover 99% of the uk, but i also have serious issues with signal once i go outside

SMARTY seem to have added caveats to this, namely:

  • The coverage applies outdoors only.
  • Coverage only applies to the more densely populated areas of the UK - rural locations might not fall within coverage due to low population density.

@garethr_1413939 It may be that you are in a 'dead spot' shielded by a building. I assume that you have tried in other areas with no problem.
