I have a shor trip planned - I have updated my APN settings and I will add an out of plan amount, but while I can see calls/txt appear covered in these forums, and I will be able to use data over wifi while in the USA ... I don't see anything on costs of data if I am using date while roaming. Does anyone know if there is a specific charge for this? It won't be large amounts and will primarily be for map apps while navigating. But want to be sure I am covered.
Thanks

Have a look here :
Also, bear in mind that map apps can, and do, use a lot of data.

@MarkHay_2130807 Since you're travelling outside the EU, your normal allowances won't be covered with Smarty's EU roaming. You'll need to add an 'Out of plan' add-on which is basically 'cash credit' and then you will be able to call/text and use data as normal.
The costs for doing so are outlined below:

You can top up however much you think you'll need for your usage abroad. Your phone should then work correctly as you have made sure to update your APN settings.

Thanks to both - I've added the out of plan deposit, I've added the APN settings. What I couldn't find was a link telling me the data costs. In looking for pricing info I found a link to a page that had call prices covered but no data use. Appreciate the quick help.

In addition to the info that @jassingh and I have already given you, if you have an eSIM compatible phone, you may look to look at travel eSIMs from the likes of Airalo, Holafly and Sparks - If you donโt know about these services, there are plenty of videos on YouTube about these services.
USA networks such as โTelloโ and โUS Mobileโ are also worth a look, again videos on YouTube and they offer eSIM, and you can also get their physical SIMs sent to you here in the UK via Amazon from their New Jersey warehouse. I did this for trips to Phoenix this year.

@MarkHay_2130807 The Smarty Price Guide gives details of charges - on p19 & p20 specifically.
โp19 shows that USA is in band1
p20 shows the cost
At 10p per Megabyte, you could burn a load of credit very quickly - maybe better to get a local sim or an e-sim if your phone supports it.
