I’ve put a new smarty sim into a netgear nighthawk M1 which I want to use abroad in the eu. I’ve put in the APN  settings but the device is showing that roaming is off. Any ideas how to deal with this? Thanks

1, Make sure you have an activated SIM card, and have bought a plan, which itself has been activated, using your dashboard.

2, Make sure the APN is 'mob.asm.net'

3, If still no connection, then check the Nighthawk's manual, or contact their technical support team

@Jennife_2109838  Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are in the UK, correct? In that case, you are not roaming now as the sim if linked to Smarty network.

....Or have I misunderstood?

Yes I’m in the UK. However I want to use the mobile router when I’m on holiday and want to ensure that roaming is on. I don’t want to find out it isn’t working once I leave the uk

@Jennife_2109838  another alternative ....... can you simply tether a device e.g. laptop to the phone rather than take a router? I say that because you can see mobile data options on the phone settings area normally (At least, you can on an iPhone - not familiar with Android).

My iPhone is left with Mobile Data Options set to Roaming On and I would only change that if going to a non EU country where there are costs involved (assuming I have credit on my account, of course)
