re activate my account or get my number back

Hi, Hope everyone's well

I have been unable to return to the UK for the last couple months because of family issues. This led to me not realisng that my account was close to being closed I saw the email that it was closed and tried to renew it by purchasing a new plan but this just created a new account and new number. 

Now i understand that i may not be able to re activate the account but is there a way i can get that number assigned to my new account. I've had it for a while and it is very important to me

@O10  Unfortunately, I think that your number will have been put back into the pile for re-circulation.

You could try a web chat with Smarty Support just in case there's a slim chance that they can retrieve it, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

In fairness to them, they did probably send you an email after 180 days of inactivity giving you a further 40 days notice before inactivating the sim.
