Problem calling a specific 0343 number

Has anyone had and solved a problem calling an 0343 number ?

I've been trying to call the Epson printer helpdesk on 0343 903 7766 from my Smarty SIM, but each time I try, nothing happens for about 40 seconds, then "Unable to connect" flashes briefly, before returning to the call log.

I can successfully call this number from a landline, so it's clearly a valid number, but no joy with my Smarty SIM.

I can also call every other number I've tried, including mobiles, landlines and other random 0343 numbers I've found via a Google search.

I've tried via WiFi calling and via 4G, but neither work.

I have friends with Smarty SIMs, and asked them to try from their SIMs.

Including mine, 5 cannot connect, but 2 can, so it seems like a widespread problem rather than just my account.

I raised this with the Smarty helpdesk well over a month ago, but we've just been going around in circles, with them repeatedly asking me to send them timestamps of recent attempts, me doing so, a few days pass and then they ask for yet more examples.

I've told the helpdesk about the widespread nature, and it astonishes me that they don't bother to recreate the problem themselves and instead keep asking me for examples.

They've now asked me to ask my friends to provide examples from their SIMs, but I'm reluctant to waste their time in the same way that I've been repeatedly asked to waste mine, time and time again for over a month, so in desperation thought I'd reach out here.

Anyone had anything the same or similar ?

@Tim-JS  I have experienced this sort of issue before - and it appears in a number of threads.

When I try again the next day, it usually connects.

I am assuming that the issue arises due to a mobile signal connecting to a landline number which in itself is internet based. I wonder if the whole system becomes confused at times - that's all I can put it down to.

@MSF, thanks for the comment, but I've tried what must be approaching 50 times, many via "wifi calling" (at my end) and never been able to get through, so it feels (to me at least) like it must be something else.
