Prioritisation not Throttling

Hi

Just wanted to put this out there to see whether anyone else is having issues.
I am convinced that 3 is prioritising its customers over Smarty.

For me it happens multiple times but only in highly populated areas even though it sometimes shows a couple of bars 4g I can’t get a data connection in my local town centre. The same happens in other areas where there is more people like retail parks etc. it’s not my phone because exactly the same happens to my son on his phone when he’s with me.

Also my work phone is on the 3 network and side by side I can usually get a data connection with my work phone when I can’t on my personal phone.
it seems like it’s getting worse and it’s very inconvenient when you are out and about.

So I believe that Smarty is getting congested because of prioritisation by 3.

I’m seriously now considering switching to 1p mobile which uses the EE network.

Really interested to hear if anyone else is having problems and even more interested if anyone has done any deeper digging.

@DavidWh_2333140 I do not doubt that Three would prioritise its customers over Smarty customers. Let's face it, they do pay more and so perhaps it is not unreasonable to expect that they get first pickings on what's available from a mast.

The thing about Smarty is that it doesn't necessarily provide everyone with what they need - I'm sure that applies to other networks as well, more especially the MVNO's.

If it works, then it's great  - currently that is my situation - but if it doesn't, then you are right to think of moving to something that will meet your needs, but that may be a full network rather than MVNO.

Hi it's the amount of people that are using the service at one time in the morning I get 300mbps in the afternoon 150mbps in the early evening 65mbps truth be told there's no technology that can change the speeds of 3 UK and smarty they are the same they can only do that on a person to person basis based on usage (breaking the terms of use)

Hope this helps
