I have just purchased a sim from smarty (first time) I have activated it however I cannot send or receive calls. How long will it take please??

@Stephen_2220883  Once the sim is activated, you should see the number allocated to it on your account dashboard.

All depends how busy things are, but usually fairly quick.

According to Smartys help articles, it can take up to 2 hours for the SIM to be activated.  You'll get a text/SMS to say your SIM is active.

If it takes much longer, it might be worth contacting Smarty via Webchat
