My phone doesn't ring if the screen is off

My fone rings if the screen is open but doesn't ring when the screen is off

What does the phone manufacturer say about this, @Kayfraze? 

Most likely this is caused by a settings option on the phone itself - the answer is probably in the phone's user manual.

@Kayfraze  Hard to think that it is anything to do with your Smarty sim.

I agree with @Chalkychap  - or else the phone is kaput, deceased, mort, muerto.

I only put in the Smarty SIM  in this week, up until then I was with Vodafone and it worked but was a lot more expensive. But now I have a cheaper option that I can't rely on.  Maybe it's a coincidence but I am not convinced.

@Kayfraze  Can you possibly try the sim in another phone to see if it works e.g. friend/family?

Have a look in the settings as this happens when the 'Do Not Disturb' is on 🤔
Other than that I am at a loss, sorry x
