Can't register with WhatsApp

Hi have just activated a new smarty SIM, but I am unable to register for WhatsApp with it. I have tried everything it says on the WhatsApp help page (turned phone on and off, uninstalled and reinstalled WhatsApp APP, tried personal and business WhatsApp) and it is still saying they cannot send me the SMS with the code an when I request a call, it doesn't give me a code, just says press a number and then cuts off. ( I have checked and can both send and receive SMS and make phone call using this phone).

According to the WhatsApp help site, if the problem continues once trying all that, then it nust me an issue with the network provider.

Has anyone has this issue?

See my other post with the solution on how to do it using the telephone call. It was tricky but it worked. That option lets you try it every four or five minutes.

Yep tried  the phone call verif way too and it only told me “ press 1”. Then stopped.

@DomAnow_3305153 Am I correct in assuming that you have activated your smarty sim and it is working and also shows on your account dashboard?

Are you changing the number on an existing account? Is the text going to your currently registered number?

Sim activated . Number in dashboard  no number change . As we all say we tried EVERYTHING. For most people Smarty’s not compatible with WhatsApp. End of.

@DomAnow_3305153 But I'm wondering if your WhatsApp account runs with the old number and they are sending a text to that number.

Update !! At laaast it’s registered. A week later lol . So yeah I assumed didn’t work and probs not all will . It’s pot luck and may take a week to get that verify code to a smarty sms receiver phone. All other sim apps do it instantly. But Still… it’s working now . Albeit a week later than planned amid  much Timewasting , stress and a purchased giFf sim later ..

I’ve an  added problem now is .. can’t re set payments to resume automatically. But hey . It’s progress lol albeit at a snail’s pace .

But it worked instantly verifying on gaff and vfone . Hmmm . Lol . So obvs isn’t a  WhatsApp  issue. !!

Same here . They assume we are all thick . Lol . We know how to do it . It’s smarty that isn’t doing it .

Definitely need to contact them to find out why their text is not arriving.

Making a new WhatsApp is irrelevant !! Tried that  too !!! 

you’ll end up losing work / £££/ friends / contacts and even if all reinstalls .. smarty won’t PROCESS the verify text. ! It’s irrelevant what you do with WhatsApp!  Adult shield lifted - iphone settings all checked as to network etc, have you noted Android users says same problem occurs ?? Asked even more techy minded pals they’re baffled as to why it’s not processing the verification text .its causing a lot of people a lot of stress .

And as Google will inform you . WhatsApp say it’s a smarty sim problem.

Hi, yes I can send and receive SMS and calls. I have made sure the number is correct and I have put it in correctly with UK code and no 0.

Same here I can send to and Fro via my voda and gaff sims. For sheer convenience I’m back on giffgaff . So cross I’d thrown a tenner away on a smarty sim. Lesson learnt bigtime! Value has to equate to efficiency. Sadly smarty is cheap but IF most sims don’t work fully -  that’s not cheap is it. If it seems too good to be true .. really wanted it to be a cheap solution to business and socials but it’s a massive disappointment!  WhatsApp verification just isn’t compatible with smarty.

Don’t you think we all tried that??????? That’s why we are on here explaining this problem!! Smarty won’t  verify WhatsApp . Kindly Google it you’ll see

See in this forum “ NO WHATSAPP COMPATABILITY “ . But if you google this .. you’ll see it’s A MAJORITY of smarty users cannot verify WhatsApp !
