I need to keep a second number alive. However the company I currently have that sim with, keeps threateing to cut it off. I don't need to make any calls or have any costs on it, I just need to be able to receive calls.

I am totally unamused that they can cut off your sim if you don't buy some credit. The credit is for making calls, sending texts and using data. Not for keepin the sim connect.

I have just asked the online chat on here and the agent clearly cannot understand my language.

It would be cool, since I am a constant paying customer of Smarty, if they could supply a second sim that needs no allowance. But I am not sure it is at all possible so is there a way ?

I guess to have two numbers, you must pay for stuff you 100% aren't gonna use, or don't need.

@i3 As far as I am aware, your sim would be deactivated after no paid use for 220 days. I believe that they send warning email after 180 days. If you buy the smallest smarty plan once every six months, this would keep the sim going without problem. Currently, that would cost £6 twice per year.

I don't think you will find any UK network that allows you to keep a SIM active without paying something from time to time.

Ofcom requires unactive numbers to be sent for recycling.

The number is actively receiving calls. Ergo, someone is paying something.

Yes, but not you

@i3  As I said, without any payment, I think you will receive a warning email after 180 days.
