Does a data add-on automatically come into use if I use up all my data before the end of the period, or do I have to activate it?

Hi @SandraC_3380304 add ons don't need to be activated, they will just come into effect once your in-plan data has run out. However, if you've recently purchased the add on a device restart might be necessary for it to come into effect

@SandraC_3380304 I'll start by stating that I have never used one and I assume you mean a domestic data add on and not an EU Roaming pass or UK Unlimited data pass.
When your data runs out, if you have purchased a data add-on, if you cannot get data then it indicates that you need to activate the add on. That said, if it is showing on your account dashboard, it would seem logical that it would automatically start.
