Re: Missing 12gb extra
My plan has renewed today, but I am only showing 12gb instead of 24gb. No one available to sort it out until 9am tomorrow. ***Update*** I sent an email to them yesterday and after confirming a few details this morning, I have now has the promotion applied to my account. It shows still as 12gb, but with a 12gb add on, which runs for 15 months. I was also told that if you change any details like the plan or my card details, the bonus offer may be removed.15KViews1like1CommentRe: Can't believe how fast the SMARTY/3 network is!
I had been happily with o2 for so many years, even as far back as the BT Cellnet days. During the last year, where they were installing 5g masts, the speed of 4g plummeted to 25%-50% of the speed it used to be. When it connected to 5g, the speed was even slower than 4g. When my contract ran out in July, I opted to switch to Smarty, and I find the 4g speed is almost treble the speed of o2 before the speeds dropped off at about 60+Mbps. In certain areas where I live, it can sometimes pick up 5g, and the speed is about 100-120Mbps. I have had speeds in London of over 1000Mbps on 5g, where on o2, it was about 200Mbps. So far, I am impressed with Smarty and how cheap it is compared with o2.4.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: [Announcement] BIG NEWS: You can now text shortcodes! 🎉
I have spotted in the app under the heading, add-ons where you can add credit to your account specifically for premium calls. I guess this is what you use for both calls or texts to competition lines, register votes for shows like Strictly Come Dancing, numbers like 0845 & 0870 plus other things. It also suggests this credit pretty much stays with you until you finish it up. You can add £5, £10 or £15 to your account. Please could Smarty admin confirm that what I have said is correct?47KViews2likes9CommentsRe: [Open Discussion] iPhone vs Android: Which do you use and why?
For years, I have gone with Sony Ericsson and Sony phones, only swapping to a Samsung Galaxy S3 mini, which I thought was pretty rubbish to be honest. My last Sony smartphone, the Sony 5 had issues with the fingerprint recognition and needed to be rebooted at least once a day to solve it. I then decided to go back to Samsung and get a Galaxy S21 5g 128gb about 15 months ago. This have been the best phone I have had by far, so much so that where I would upgrade the Sony roughly every 12 months due to a performance drop, I am still using the Samsung, and do not look to upgrade it just yet as it is running the latest version of Android and it is still performing well.30KViews4likes1CommentRe: [Open Discussion] Smarty plans are ridiculously good value
I had been with o2 for many years, going right back when it was BT Cellnet as they gave the best signal in my area. The last plan I had was a 12 month Sim Only, paying £20 for 80gb data. I never reached anywhere near that, but as it offered 6 months of free Disney+, it made it worth it. During this time, it went up by nearly £2.50 per month with the annual price increase. However, since the start of the year, I have been experiencing a drop in signal while they are installing 5g in the area, so sometimes I struggled to get any signal at all. My brother used to be with 3 and always had a good signal, so in July, I thought I would try Smarty. Paying £7 for 12gb which was the same price as the 8gb plan, I made the switch, and I am glad to say, the signal is so much better now. I realised I needed more data in November, so changed up to 30gb for £10. This then cancelled out the initial offer, so switched back to 8gb for £7. I have noticed I am getting close to my data limit and saw a double data offer of 24gb for £8, which I may just stick with for now as it is still a lot less than o2.4.1KViews0likes0Comments
