Re: [Announcement] BIG NEWS: You can now text shortcodes! π
Hi All frustrated Users! I can't believe that this is still dragging on, and that Smarty are, as far as I am aware, the only provider who don't have Short code messaging as a basic part of their plan! I first asked about this 7 Months ago, and there has been so many people asking for this to be sorted out, it's unbelievable! Come on Smarty - This just can't be Rocket Science - Please get this sorted out ASAP!36KViews6likes2CommentsRe: [Announcement] BIG NEWS: You can now text shortcodes! π
Well, that's a shame but surely a rather pathetic approach to something that every other network offers! I have not been able to enter competitions or confirm my identity with a few websites, etc etc. I think that I will be looking for another network - as no one seems to be interested in solving the problem!41KViews0likes0CommentsRe: [Announcement] BIG NEWS: You can now text shortcodes! π
Hi I gather from a few other posts that these are not possible at the moment! I found this in some information blurb from SMARTY - " At some point you'll be able to send other kinds of messages which will be chargeable. This will include premium-rate texts and short-codes, which are used for entering competitions, buying ringtones and voting on reality TV shows, and paying for parking." As other people say they don't indicate when this will be available! I agree with the others that it should be no problem with a decent quality service! I too, like some other people may well be switching to another provider which doesn't have this problem!125KViews46likes209CommentsRe: No calls or texts for 9 days and counting...
UPDATE - TRY - Go into Chat and ask them to "Reactivate and Refresh" your SIM! One of the Support team (Apologies to him, can't remember his name!), but it worked and gave me full functionality within minutes! Which was a relief from being told to take my SIM out of the phone.... Sprinkle a bit of Fairy dust....... Lol! Just TELL one of them what he did! And Good luck to ya!6.8KViews2likes0CommentsRe: My smarty sim card saying it's active I can't call or text
Hi - Thanks, I had a chat with a Support guy yesterday who explained that it's actually like this - "I am sorry its nothing like that, some times due to technical error or server issue it gets delayed. But receiving OTP is not an issue, responding to companies messages or short codes messages is an issue , taking part in contests through text is an issue. Issue is in sending texts not receiving them."3.6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: My smarty sim card saying it's active I can't call or text
Hi Rebekah - I am not being funny, but have you actually counted the number of messages which are asking the same question? Somehow I very much doubt that it's anything to do with thick customers signing up for data only plans! PPlease be honest and tell us what the problems with SMARTY ARE? It's taken me weeks to get 1 of your customer service reps to admit that SMARTY are not yet capable of receiving the OTP (2FA) Codes from most companies - Apparently your engineers are working on it!3.6KViews0likes1CommentRe: No calls or texts for 9 days and counting...
Hi I have been trying to get OTP Codes (2FA) for months and only recently got the truth from a SMARTY Rep in Chat. Apparently SMARTY does not have the capability to receive OTP Codes from the majority of companies which use it yet! Their engineers are supposed to working on this issue round the clock - but now I have demanded and received a Replacement SIM - I HAVE NO SERVICE LIKE YOU! I activated the SIM - which took several attempts! Then it also took me a few tries to get credit on the new SIM. However now, several days later it is not recognised on the network and my only option is "EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY" Again if you go into chat with India they go through the same BS Scripts, telling you to take the SIM out and try again etc! If there is a problem with the SIM in the tray surely it would have NEVER ACTIVATED! To be honest I am trying to find a better solution to all this nonsense in the form of another provider. I have wasted hours and hours in chat - with no real results at all!6.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: [Open Discussion] Whatβs the best bit of tech youβve bought recently?
Hi I have recently gone kinda the other way - I have some way cheap h/phones, but recently bought a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4 Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones - 30 hours battery life - Over Ear style, so not too bad passive NC if the battery does run out. The Active Noise Cancelling is very effective at say getting rid of most road noise - You know on motorways mainly it makes a big difference. I can actually practice some Meditation - as well as listening to music etc. Not used them much for calls, but when I have the quality was great!33KViews1like0Comments
