wifi connection is showing but has a cross through it

wifi connection is showing but has a cross through it on my laptop but i can connect from my phone and other devices. i can still conncet my phone to router and then hotspot to PC but dont know why PC wont allow me to access the network? any ideas? @ links to members

Hello @keithmi_2034856 . Is your PC trying to connect to your home wifi or to the telephone hotspot directly?

Would it not be easier to connect PC directly to phone hotspot?

Hi, it is a router I have on a boat I am trying to connect to, I can hotspot from phone but prefer to link to router directly otherwise I am tied to sitting next to my laptop

@keithmi_2034856 I'm no expert, but would you need to then change the router settings so that they reflect the phone as provider?
