Unable to phone uk landline from Australia. I have an out of plan add on but calls just fail.

@PhilipJ_1446617 Did you check that your Account shows sufficient add-on credit? You will need 50p per minute to phone the UK from Oz.

Have you also checked that you are somewhere with a decent signal form an Oz network?

Yes - I added a top up so plenty of credit and have signal (tried all three providers) but not working.

@PhilipJ_1446617 Are you by any chance calling a 'corporate' type of landline number?

A number of us have had problems in connecting with these. I wonder if it is due to the call going from mobile to landline to a number that uses internet telephony. In your case, it is probably doing an extra hop from Oz mobile through to UK mobile I imagine.

No - this is to a domestic landline / personal mobile. Infuriating!

Did you dial the number in full with the +44 prefix - rather than dial from Contacts?

yeah - we travel quite a lot so all contacts have the +44 dial code. First time we have had a problem but also first time I’ve been on smarty outside US or EU.
