I bought a Smarty SIM for a trip to Europe, but am now travelling to Trinidad and Tobago. Is Smarty compatible there, assuming I would have to pay for some kind of upgrade to my plan?

Hello @DanielW_2103151 The full details are in the Price Guide p17 to p19: https://cdn.smarty.co.uk/files/SMARTY-Price-Guide.pdf
The rates are quite horrendous and you would need an out of plan add on to pay for any kind of usage. You may be better off looking at a local sim or esim (if your phone is compatible) or even relying on free wifi if possible.

As above, you really don't want to paying Smarty roaming rates there, so a local SIM or (if you device supports it) an e-SIM is recommended.
I used an e-SIM from Arialo in Alaska recently and it worked well. The costs for one to cover your destination is not too expensive - https://www.airalo.com/trinidad-and-tobago-esim
