my texts to contacts are appearing as coming from the SMARTY number even though, according to SMARTY, my old number has been transferred successfully. This has come up before in the community and I haven't seen that anyone has actually had a helpful reply from SMARTY. The only response I saw was to direct the user to their phone manual and look it up. I find this totally unacceptable; I tried this (Samsung Galaxy A21s) and got nowhere. I have never had this problem transferring my number between providers before and wish I had never gone with SMARTY. Worst decision I made.

This issue actually has nothing to do with Smarty, and would have occurred no matter which network you moved your number to. The messages which are showing the wrong sender number are not SMS messages (where Smarty does control the sender number) but RCS messages (where Google controls the sender number).
Take a look at this thread which has various things to try to fix the issue.
Note that this is the Smarty Community, where customers help out other customers with information and advice, so most advice is indeed going to come from other customers, not Smarty themselves.

Hi there: This was instructive but unhelpful. I found I was using SMS on my old number and I can find no mention of RCS in any of the messaging/phone settings menus. BUT, when I send a text the SMARTY supplied number takes over and sends the message in RCS from the SMARTY number. Instructions online as to how to "revert" to SMS don't match the menu options on my phone. Any other ideas?
