I bought a smarty sim for my daughter to use on a spare iPhone 7 so Shen would have some back up data as her other phone uses giff gaff which only has 5gb of EU data.
However it’s not connecting, anyone had this issues and found a solution. Any advise is much appreciated.

Have you changed the handset settings for mobile data APN to "mob.asm.net" @Richard72?
SMARTY requires use of this value in order to ensure mobile data works while roaming. Looks like and Android device so the following help article may be relevant:
