Dont worry too much about Smarty's list of approved devices, I use an Asus Zenfone 9, which is not on Smarty's approved list, and it works just fine.
In the very unlikely event that the Nothing Phone 1 doesnt work with Smarty (Think a nun having triplets with the pope !) then, as Smarty offer 30 day recurring plans, there is no long term contract that you have tied yourself into, so you could easily and quickly switch to another network.
