Hi, we’ve ordered a new SIM for my father in law but have no idea which email address it was linked to now. We ordered the Smarty SIM because we all have one and he’d had a problem getting an o2 SIM. In the meantime his o2 SIM arrived on a 2 year contract and he can’t get out of it. As we can’t access the Smarty account, if it’s not activated will the payments never be taken? I’ve got the original packaging and SIM card here but nothing else.

@JamesTa_1175465 Not quite clear here as to exact problem.
How many possible email addresses could have been used when you ordered the sim? If you did not buy it pre-paid with a Smarty plan, then there will be no cost if it is not activated. I'm assuming that you did not set up an account with a mens of payment. Smarty do not run a contract as such; they offer a monthly plan that can be renewed automatically if the customer wishes (auto-renew on account dashboard).
If your father-in-law ordered an o2 sim online, what about the 'cooling-off' period? Read T&C's carefully.

Cheers for the reply. By the time he received the o2 sim the cooling off period had lapsed. Postal service is up the wall here at the moment. I’ve a feeling I’ve simply ordered it via my app so no payment details entered. I had a feeling that if it’s not activated no payment would be taken. I’ve tried putting the SIM in my phone and restarting it but nothing happened so hoping that not activating it will do the trick.

@JamesTa_1175465 If it is not activated, then you are not using a Smarty plan.
Check the account dashboard and that should show what has been purchased, if anything. You can also make sure that auto-renew is not turned on if you are really concerned.
