Every month I receive a text AND email that my contract was renewed. Every time the ping of these texts disturbs me in meetings etc.
How can I switch these very annoying texts off, telling me about renewal by email is perfectly sufficient. Un wanted TEXT is always a disruption.
(And no, setting the prefs in the account settings doesn't switch them off)

Thank you for your answer.
As I said in my last sentence, any change to the account's contact preferences has no effect.
I don't find it acceptable that SMARTY is allowed to send such text messages, especially when they are sent twice — once by email and once by text message. I don't think I should have to pay this level of attention to a routine contract renewal matters. None of my other subscription suppliers do this; only SMARTY does.
@MSFI appreciate your response, but I must say that the reasoning you quoted in your last paragraph is outright bizarre. Why would anyone think that something has been hacked just because I keep getting renewal notices? What kind of mind works like this?

I did read your last sentence - I was just double-checking that I understood correctly.
"Allowed" to send the messages? Many firms that I deal with -credit card companies, banks, utilities included - let me know that there is a statement or that they are taking money and then let me know when I have paid it. It seems to be common practice. It hardly takes much payment of attention but indicates that all is as expected with the account.
"Bizarre"? In these days of the scum scammers, any text that shows me something that I wasn't expecting is a good thing in my opinion. If I decided to take a break from buying a plan for a month or two for some reason, but then received such a text and email, it would alert me to something unexpected and I could investigate.

@Michael_2043373 I think it may be that you cannot turn them off (seem to remember previous thread on this topic). In that case, the only way to prevent disturbance is to switch your phone to silent during meetings.
Just checking - you did try turning them off here?: https://smarty.co.uk/dashboard/settings/contact-preferences
I believe the reason for sending them is so that anyone who did not renew but still gets such a message may well have had their account hacked and can then get in touch with Smarty quickly.
