Enable roaming on your phone, and make sure you've got an allowance for calls.

Calls, text and data come out of any allowance you've purchased.
SMARTY allow you to use your allowances when roaming in Spain (and other EU destinations). Your data is limited to 12GB/month though, if you happened to have more in your allowance.

Just to clarify......

Calls, texts and data come out of the standard Smarty Plan while in the EU (subject to 12Gb/month limit on data) i.e. you can roam just like you're at home. You don't necessarily need any extra credit in your account.
