Excessive Data Usage - 4g

Hello, 

Has anyone experienced similar to me?

I signed up to Smarty mobile (4g) yesterday - 32gb p/m.

I've used my WiFi in the house since, and for all updates etc, and only used my mobile data to check a few web pages and run some connection tests. 

I checked my account this morning and it says I've used 674mb!

I have my settings the same as previous provider, which was nowhere near this usage. 

Must say I'm pretty alarmed by this.

Did you use speed test by ookla? I found it used nearly 1GB per test while using data.

@FunkMoth  If you do a speed test on 5G, it certainly can eat data - I have experienced the best part of 1Gb disappearing that way - lesson learned!!

Oh dear. Looks like I have my answer. 

I ran numerous speed tests [including ookla]  so that must be where all the usage went. 

I didn't expect that. But yes, a lesson has been learnt.
