I’m going on a cruise from Southampton to cork. Can I use my mobile data aboard the ship

@ElaineD_2329763 Not while you are out at sea and away from a standard mobile mast.
You should get service for a while after you set sail from Southampton and then the signal will drop off as you get out into the English Channel. As you approach Cork, you should then be able to EU Roam using up to 12Gb data.
If you really need data while out at sea, you will need to consider paying extortionate amounts for the ship's own service (and that can often be very slow unless they have recently upgraded to a new fast satellite system).

@ElaineD_2329763 To add to @MSF's answer, one of the advantages of a pre-pay service like Smarty is that you can't accidentally rack up any additional costs without having added extra credit to your account, so you won't get stung by your phone using data in the background on the ship's extortionately priced network before you even become aware of it.
