My first EVER gig was @ Hampden Glasgow 3 June 2018, oh I am 62 this year, I won 2 tickets in my local pub Christmas raffle Dec 2017/Jan 2018. Who to take??, well I was everyones m8 that night lol, but the only choice for me was my wee holiday pal who had been going to Roda Coru with me for at least the previous 4 years, my wee Sister!
My next gig was one I had waited about 30 years to see, Jeff Waynes War Of The Worlds at the OVO in Glasgow 2022, had some spare ยฃยฃ so bought a ticket for me and my partner, he always loved Forever Autumn sung by Justin Hayward, what I didn't tell him was that the very man was performing that night!!! Am sure there was a tear in his eye when Justin came on stage.

My favourite live gig was Midge Ure in Union Chapel in Islington. It was my daughter's first ever live gig and the look on her face as the music courses through her was beyond comparison.
I had been invited by a friend who is Midge's sound tech and as a single parent (not through choice) I couldn't normally afford a luxury like tickets to a gig, but music is really important in my life and that feeling of sharing the live music changed our relationship forever.
As Midge sang Breathe, the emotions were intense, and I'll never forget it.

Squeeze, Leeds University October 1987. Jools Holland was a legend even then, his support group, if memory serves me correctly was a then undiscovered erasure, I'm sure of it, but cant find any validation! It was my first gig and what a class act - top icons in the music industry. Jools instilled not only a passion for music in me which Ive passed to my grown up children, but an appreciation for the hardworking artists, their journeys. All that has set my bar high to enjoy a big high quality SOUND and his audience engagement meant that I appreciate every contribution from every musician - no matter how small that incidental percussion is. I am also automatically captivated by great piano playing.

Best ever concert I have been to... Neil Diamond at the O2 - a real showman - he sang all his songs including probably the best version of Soolaimon I have ever heard... I was very lucky indeed - as I had won the tickets!!

Local 80's Cover Band (6 Go Mad) at a gig back in 2018 ... Our work colleague was one of the lead singers and he used the 'thanks to the band' section at the end to propose to his girlfriend ... I and another colleague were the ONLY people in on the surprise and we were tasked with bringing the ring to the gig and handing it secretly to him just prior to his moment, during the final song Sweet Child O' Mine ... The atmosphere from the set had been amazing anyway but when the proposal moment came it hit another level and then the band started up again to finish the song and even Guns N Roses themselves couldn't have got the place rocking more !?!

It would have to be a set, in a local pub, from an 80's Cover Band called 6 Go Mad back in 2018 ... One of the lead singers was a work colleague and he was going to use the 'introduce/thanks to the band' section at the end of the set in order to surprise his girlfriend, the other lead singer, with a marriage proposal ... Another work colleague and i were the ONLY people who knew this was going to happen and we were charged with bringing the ring to the gig and sneaking it to him at the appropriate moment during their final song Sweet Child O' Mine ... The whole set had been excellent (as usual) and the place was really buzzing, but it hit totally new levels when he made the proposal ... She (of course) said yes and the band struck up again and began finishing off the song ... The atmosphere became so electric during those final moments that even Guns N Roses themselves couldn't have finished it off any better ... There are videos of that finale and it still induces goosebumps as you watch it !?!

Bruce Springsteen and the E-street band live in Monza 2023. Great weekend in Italy, great music that I have enjoyed as a kid growing up and now have had the chance to see them live for the first time.

Hey there, my favourite live performance was Synthony in the domain, in Auckland, New Zealand. The music is a mix of electronic dance music with a live orchestra, DJโs, vocalists, and crazy, consuming visuals.
Attendees ranged in all ages, backgrounds and music tastes. The vibe was amazing, seeing music bring all these different people together in one place. It felt like the domain was our church all celebrating a love for the beauty of music.

I was lucky enough to be at Nirvana third to last ever concert in Rome, Italy in February 1994. Kurt Cobain simply stood still at his microphone the whole time singing and playing guitar and yet I couldn't take my eyes off of him, so magnetic was his performance. I've seen hundreds of concerts after that but it still stands like the best one

Royal Blood, supported by The Amazons, at NIA. It wasn't long after Taylor's passing so every Foo's song (over the PA or played by the bands) was sung loud and with rock and roll passion ๐ค
