Squeeze, Leeds University October 1987. Jools Holland was a legend even then, his support group, if memory serves me correctly was a then undiscovered erasure, I'm sure of it, but cant find any validation! It was my first gig and what a class act - top icons in the music industry. Jools instilled not only a passion for music in me which Ive passed to my grown up children, but an appreciation for the hardworking artists, their journeys. All that has set my bar high to enjoy a big high quality SOUND and his audience engagement meant that I appreciate every contribution from every musician - no matter how small that incidental percussion is.
