I don't believe you have to chance settings l thought phones these days auto did it you normally get a message like Welcome to Spain etc upon trying your phone on when you arrive

For some strange reason l got it twice within 3 days of each other 路‍♀️ 

I went to Spain with my parter and was able to ring him without +44 when he nipped back to the room and l wanted to ask him to grab something 

Have you tried turning the plus net sim off and turning off and on the smarty sim
