Re: Roaming further than Europe
I wondered if there was any news on this idea - being able to purchase an amount of data, calls and texts for countries outside of the EU? It would be great to just be able to buy the add-on from Smarty rather than pay for a different provider for a month.4.9KViews0likes0CommentsRoaming further than Europe
It is great we can roam in Europe for no extra cost subject to fair use. I would like the option for a similar option when visiting other countries too. For example, in the summer I am going to Turkey for the first time. As an example, I will end up paying, say, £15 for a Lyca Mobile sim for a month to have 15Gb data rather than risk clocking up a big bill for not a lot of data with Smarty. Wouldn't it be great if we could pay the £15 to Smarty and be able to use our allowance subject to the same limits as in the EU?5.2KViews9likes10CommentsProblems sending email via Smarty
Hi, I have my own domain and email address and I can send and receive emails from my phone whilst connected to wifi, but the moment I come off wifi and connect to Smarty, I can receive emails but not send them. They sit in my outbox unsent until I connect back to wifi. Connecting to Smarty and starting up Shark VPN and the email sends ok suggesting it is something to do with when the email passes through Smarty. Anyone else got email through their own domain with similar problems? Anyone got a solution? Thanks1.8KViews0likes1CommentRe: [Open Discussion] What’s the best bit of tech you’ve bought recently?
I'm keeping an eye on that. My in-laws already use a 4G wifi router as their broadband is slower than a snail (2Mb on a good day). Even though I am rural, I'm about 1 mile away from being able to receive 5G - grrr - so close and yet so far!33KViews1like0CommentsRe: [Open Discussion] What’s the best bit of tech you’ve bought recently?
My best "buy" (it was a requested Christmas present) was a toolset - see below. OK, so not exactly tech, but I've been volunteering to refurbish and set up some old laptops and desktops for people recently and getting by with just two or three tools and often having to adapt. Now, I shoud, hopefully, have a tool for even the smallest and most unusual screws!33KViews7likes1CommentRe: [Open Discussion] iPhone vs Android: Which do you use and why?
I've always used Android (or Nokia previously) but this has predominantly been down to cost. Step daughter has mostly had iPhones as her dad swears by them. I get the longevity argument of iPhones, but step daughter has had more iPhones in the same time as my last two phones - but this could be down to her desire to continually upgrade and my happiness with what I have. I've now got a Samsung A70 which is just over 3.5 years old - it feels like new. I got it for a very good price after a cashback offer and a trade-in offer (About £210). I do suspect that as Android phones can often be quite cheap - decent phones for just under £100 and upwards, comparing budget Android phones to iPhones isn't a fair comparison.20KViews0likes0Comments
