I have a suggestion for improving the voicemail system.
At present it appears that the outgoing message is a hybrid, with the account holder being required to record their name, after which the system adds a generic pre-recorded message along the lines of "...is unable to answer your call" This is rather limiting, and I for one do not wish to give my name to callers, for data security reasons. Other customers have also expressed dissatisfaction in the forum.
I'd like to offer the constructive suggestion that the service could be improved if we are instead given a choice of two options when setting up voicemail:
1) Using a fully pre-recorded message ("the person you are calling is unable etc etc) and
2) recording the entire outgoing message ourselves.
I've had the ability to do these things with previous suppliers, so it would appear to be technically possible. I'm impressed with Smarty so far, and I enjoy using the service. I just feel this is one area that could be improved 🙂
