Re: [Photography] Share your photos!
Tascha This is an interesting thread, and I was intrigued to hear you talking about film based photography. I still have my old 35mm SLR and would love to use it again. Is it still possible to get enlargements made from negatives by the old chemical based wet system, do you know, or are they all printed these days?3.5KViews0likes1Comment- 1.5KViews0likes0Comments
Voicemail Announcememnts
I have a suggestion for improving the voicemail system. At present it appears that the outgoing message is a hybrid, with the account holder being required to record their name, after which the system adds a generic pre-recorded message along the lines of "...is unable to answer your call" This is rather limiting, and I for one do not wish to give my name to callers, for data security reasons. Other customers have also expressed dissatisfaction in the forum. I'd like to offer the constructive suggestion that the service could be improved if we are instead given a choice of two options when setting up voicemail: 1) Using a fully pre-recorded message ("the person you are calling is unable etc etc) and 2) recording the entire outgoing message ourselves. I've had the ability to do these things with previous suppliers, so it would appear to be technically possible. I'm impressed with Smarty so far, and I enjoy using the service. I just feel this is one area that could be improved 🙂1.2KViews1like3CommentsBody Analyser / Smart Scales - Any Recommendations?
Hi all, Does anyone have experience with body analyser scales? You know, the ones that tell you your weight, plus how much muscle mass you have, and your body fat percentage. I'm wanting to get in shape, and to help me check progress I'm looking for a body analyser that syncs with my smartphone and can store / graph my readings. Anyone got any recommendations, or tips? Thanks 🙂1.2KViews0likes2Comments- 1.7KViews1like0Comments
Re: Voicemail Greeting
The problem is, the outgoing message is a combination of your personally recorded message followed by a pre-recorded statement of "...is unable to answer your call ..etc" so that's limiting as to what you can do, without sounding amateurish. I just feel that it's probably a simple matter for the network admin to re-program the system to enable the option of either a fully automated message, or a fully self-recorded message, as per other networks. It's the enforced hybrid combination that causes problems. I offer this more as a feedback suggestion to Smarty for an improved and more attractive service, rather than a complaint. Feedback is valuable after all 🙂 And yes, I agree that Smarty offers a decent, good value service. There's always room to improve though, and no business can afford to rest on their laurels.9.8KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Voicemail Greeting
I fully agree that the current voicemail greeting system on Smarty is atrocious! On all my previous contracts, dating back 25 plus years, I've been able to select a pre-recorded generic greeting as an alternative option to creating my own. For security reasons it's NEVER a good idea to state your name on voicemail, as it gives random dialling scammers new data on you. The only way around the Smarty system appears to be using a text-to-speech service on your computer to say the words "the person you are calling" and play that while setting up your voicemail. The fact that I was using much better and more fully featured voicemail greetings a quarter of a century ago really shows you how limited and poor the current setup is. An upgrade would seriously improve my customer satisfaction level, and I think the same is probably true of most of us here. Maybe give me a thumbs-up if you agree, and hopefully this will get noticed. 👍9.8KViews3likes4Comments
