Hi, I’ve activated my card but the car doesn’t seem to recognise that the card is activated. It does however detect a card is present. Any ideas? Thanks

Wether you use Android Auto or Apple Car Play, you need to pair your phone to your car, using Bluetooth - If unsure how to do this, consult your manual(s)

Aldo make sure your Smarty SIM is actually activated, by checking your Smarty dashboard, and / or attempting to make a call

@JulianK_2012610  As @JJP2 says, the phone pairs to the car via Bluetooth.

If you have an activated sim in the phone, it should then be available to make and receive calls & texts.

The activated sim should show an allocated mobile number on your account dashboard - that's how you know it is activated.

Hi, it’s data only. Just fit use with the sat nav traffic updates.

@JulianK_2012610  Are you saying that you want to insert the sim directly into a slot in the car?

There are many cars that do have a sim in them for emergency call use, but I think that is controlled via the car's system and so you would not be able to insert a sim that did not come from the manufacturer. Apologies if I am misunderstanding you.

Yes, the SIM card is inserted directly in the car. I took it to Audi today for them to set up the live traffic updates. They said the car detected a card was present but it wouldn’t connect. It has been activated

@JulianK_2012610  When you look at your account dashboard, are you seeing the number for the sim and an active Smarty plan for this month? If so and it still does not work, you will need a web chat with the Support Team if the Audi techs are sure they have done everything from their end - Vorsprung durch Teknik? (Progress through technology)

Will contact support. Much appreciated. Cheers.

@JulianK_2012610 Just another thought......does the car have CarPlay? If so, it should be able to use Google Maps or another mapping app via the phone sim - no need for another sim.

It looks like you may need an “Audi connect Licence” :

This looks like you have to use an embedded Audi SIM card and also need to purchase a data package from “My Audi” :

Audi Connect isn’t required on the TT according to the Audi Technician

Odd, because the Audi website gives the impression that it is required :

I would contact Audi’s helpline (details should be in your manual) to double check
