I'm going abroad for a few days and I don't want anyone calling from the UK to hear a foreign dial tone, but I still want to be able to use my data function as access to wifi might not be consistent. It doesn't seem like I am able to use mobile data while on airplane mode with Smarty. Is this correct?
Secondly, if I was to add a new sim & number and turn off the other one before leaving, would that achieve my aim?

@CB_3005379 With the phone in airplane mode you will not have any cellular service.
You can add a new sim to your own group as a nickname sim (no new account needed and turn off the first one.
You could also consider buying an esim for data if your phone can handle that. Admittedly you will not get your 12Gb of roaming data if you're in the EU, but you won't need to buy a new Smarty plan either.
Alternative suggestion: Can you put a call divert on your phone for all calls to another UK number with an answerphone? Hopefully, nobody would hear a foreign dealing tone then.
