Smarty to Smarty calls dropping

Can anyone help? My husband and I both just switched to Smarty. He's just got a new refurb phone and installed his Smarty sim, so we're not sure if the problem is his phone or Smarty network, but basically we frequently can't call each other. Sometimes there is no ring tone at all and we get each other's voicemail, and sometimes it rings but goes to voicemail, but neither of us have any missed call reports.

I am disabled and bedbound so need to be able to get through to him as he's my carer, so this is really quite stresseful. Is anyone else having this problem?

Have a look at this article https://help.smarty.co.uk/en/articles/1155220-using-the-internet-after-you-ve-joined-smarty

Make sure your network settings are set up correctly. It might also be your location so have a look at the coverage checker https://smarty.co.uk/coverage-checker/ and network status https://smarty.co.uk/network-status-checker/  in case there is any ongoing coverage work.

I have a similar problem. I dial a number but there is total silence, no ring tone. Nothing. Dialling the number on another phone and asking if they had had a previous call, I find that it hadn’t called.

Hi every I had same issue a can't make call only contact on WhatsApp by call. 5g or 4g  stable connection but unable to make any calls

@LukaszW  Did you check the Network Status for your area to see if there is a mast problem for calls?

Yes it's been good in last 2 years

At the end of December last year the problems started. No possibility of outgoing and incoming calls. We have 4 different phones and SIM cards in the family and everyone has the same problem. Resetting the phones and reconfiguring them does not help.

@LukaszW  Now that 3G has been turned off, a number of models of phone are not compatible with Smarty's 4G VoLTE protocol.

I'm using 5G or 4G setup manual but still get cutting off on calls  For 5 miles. Between M30 and M16.

@LukaszW If it only happens in a certain area, could it be because the signal is rubbish or congested there?

Honestly, I don't know, today, for example everything is fine. Problems are like a lottery with the option to call. If the problem persists I will have to change the network and I have been really happy with Smarty's services so far....

@LukaszW That's all very well, but if the area is congested generally (and being around Manchester, that's a possibility) then changing networks may still result in the same problem.
