Receive SMS oversea

Hi,

Is SMARTY possible to receive SMS when I am outside the UK, for example Japan?

From this question and answer and the various help topics on here, it appears SMS can be RECEIVED but not SENT when roaming?  My employer is sending me to US for work so I just need to know I can still receive SMS while I am there as SMS is used for 2-factor authentication for almost every app nowadays.  I don't want to find when I get to US that I cannot access my bank account.

@Aspace That's correct. You can in fact SEND sms if you have credit on your account to pay for it (Add-on).

It's free to receive an SMS while you're roaming in Japan, with your SMARTY SIM card @Jackylam.

Japan is in SMARTY Mobile's "Roaming 3" band for roaming rates, which are given on page 19 of the online price guide (SMARTY-Price-Guide.pdf).

You can't use your plan's allowances while roaming in Japan, so to make/receive calls, send texts, and use roaming mobile data, you'll need to buy an add-on for your plan.
