Mobile internet in devon

Up until maybe 1 1/2 months ago I was really happy with smarty, so much so I disconnected my landline and moved to a sim router, but after months of utter joy it’s gone to pieces. Sometimes I don’t even get the internet on my phone and the router buffers. Has something happened recently I’m not aware of? Getting to the point I’m looking at seeing if there is a better product out there as good as smarty used to be.

@CallumV_1561915  3G turn off causing issues?

In fairness, Smarty do make it clear that mobile data is no substitute for broadband.

Definitely, but as we’re remote it really was a solution, and still is to a point, but even on my phone the internet has been glitchy and patchy for around 6-8 weeks. Sadly I might have to go, the offering is brilliant but only when it’s as good as it used to be.

We have exactly the same problem. I don't know exactly where you are but, we are in Moretonhampstead. We believe the the nearest mobile mast to us was damaged in the recent storm and is currently out of action. So, our connection has changed to the next nearest mast that is too far away for a decent connection. Luckily, we also installed a booster aerial but, the connection is still only about 1.5 mbps. I have heard that there is a possibility that the mast may no be repaired at all so we are considering our options. I have downgraded our packages on our phones to the cheapest - £6.00 and am considering what to do about the router / internet connection. Any sort of video streaming is impossible and we are even having problems doing updates on our devices.
