Is the sim showing as activated on your account?

Hi @KevinCo_1874233 As @MSF said I would check your SIM is active - you can contact our team here smarty.co.uk/contact if you are needing any support

I used to have an Archer MR600, and can confirm LTE routers are usually as simple as "plug-n-play".

Same here 4g seems to be blocked on these devices. Guess someone doesnt want these sims in routers

@DanielP_2058417 While I am not necessarily sure that is the case, do bear in mind a 'fair use policy' that exists: https://cdn.smarty.co.uk/files/SMARTY-Terms-And-Conditions.pdf?_gl=1*1fdbjmj*_ga*MTU4MjA1MTQ2NC4xNjg.... Point 5.15

Ive only had the sim two days so lets hope not haha. But as it was a knew toy i used about 20gb over the two days.
I popped it in my phone and works fine.
I googled it and theres posts over the last two years of the same issue and its never been resolved by either smarty or tplink

@DanielP_2058417 Well, at least you do now know that it works.
I seem to remember other posts about Smarty sims having problems with TPLink routers.
The answer to that is well above my pay grade 🤔

I guess ill be looking for another provider. Shame because in my phone it gets 500mbps but on my mifi router 36mbps and on this new tplink router 3mbps.
Usually by now a user finds the problem but its like the tplink routers dont have compatible frequencies to run smarty so no amount of messing with settings has got me anywhere.

@DanielP_2058417 Agreed - it does seem like the 'culprit' is the TP Link router.
Have you tried to get in touch with them? Do they have a Support forum?

Yeah many users have approached tplink and smarty in various posts. Neither has resulted in a solution or advice further than reboot and update firmware.
When it hits a wall like that it usually means theres some serious incompatibility.
The "5g" signal i get on my phone i believe is a simulated one using combined older band types.
Maybe that has something to do with it.

One extra thing i just discovered is they just stopped support for phones without VOLTE. This somehow means phones that dont have that cant get 4g from now on. Guess my router doesn't have volte as its meant for data not voice calls lol.
Handy way to block all routers using your sims.

Ok i did a factory reset and now its working at 100mbps.
I wonder if my new item from currys was a previous return and had some settings changed.
