Hi, have just joined and waiting for my SIM.

What is the benefit of winning badges in the forum?

Hi @DavidB-3335558

I moved from SMARTY to iD Mobile and have found that iD Mobile are VERY appreciative of their Community members who help as much as possible with questions asked.
I didn't even realise that they had a reward system until I got an email congratulating me for becoming a Silver Member and I got a £25 Currys voucher as a 'Thank You'!
I don't do it for rewards, as I know how frustrating and upsetting it can be to find yourself in a situation where you don't know what to do, so it was a very nice and much appreciated surprise to get the voucher!
They also have a lot of competitions to win a variety of items as well!

It IS such a shame that SMARTY don't have a similar reward system as it is nice to feel appreciated and as @SmartyTrousers and @MSF have stated they DO help a LOT within the Community and really should be shown that their input has been recognised and respected!

@DavidB-3335558 I think the purpose of the badges it to keep 'enthusiastic users' (geeks) like us motivated and providing customer service for free.

Personally, I've reached a stage where I realise this isn't a great use of my time and energy.

@DavidB-3335558 In truth, absolutely none!

In theory, the further up the 'greasy pole' you climb, the more chance of people thinking that you know what you are talking about and perhaps taking your advice. (Little do they know! 🤔)

You would have thought that Smarty would give some free data or other incentive to people who are working hard at answering questions on their behalf.

@DavidB-3335558  Unfortunately not the case. To be fair, many moons ago, I did once receive a token of appreciation for my input.
