Looking to see if anyone has this phone on Smarty and has had an email from Smarty saying it won't work come the 3G switch off next month. Just bought the phone as a replacement for my Moto G9 plus that Smarty said would not work once 3G is cut off. Not getting far with technical support unfortunately

Hi @SandraC_2200711 👋
As @MSF states you will need 4G to make/receive calls.
In Settings/Connections/Mobile network/4G Calling (found off the tinternet so may be different) you need to see the '4G Calling' option, and it is enabled, as that is the connection option to use VoLTE (stands for Voice over LTE)!
Have you checked this Help page?

Good luck! x

@SandraC_2200711  There have been a number of posts on the forum about that. Please try a search.

The general view was that if the phone picks up 4G signal now as shown on your screen, there is no problem.

I have a Moto G7 power and that picks up 4G however it no longer makes voice calls. There is no check box in settings to enable VoLTE so picking up 4G is not an indicator that a phone will continue to work.

@MarkGarr_278472  That indeed seems to be the case - we learnt that more recently.

It is a 5g phone. 4g calling not an option. Says 5g/4g. Basically a lot of what Smarty suggests as menu options do not match up with my Settings.
